Privacy Policy

Atlas Packaging Hub (“Atlas”, “we”, “us”, “our”) supplies bulk food packaging to businesses across Melbourne and Australia. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it and how you can access or correct it.

What personal information we collect

Most of our customers are businesses, but we still collect some personal information about the people we deal with. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

• your name, business name, job title and ABN
• contact details such as email address, phone number, and billing and delivery addresses
• order details, quotes, product enquiries and correspondence with us
• account details if you register on our website, such as your username and order history (we never see your password in plain text)
• payment information needed to process an order; card payments are handled by our payment providers and we do not store full card numbers
• technical information when you use our website, such as IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and referring site, collected through cookies and similar technologies

We do not intentionally collect sensitive information (such as health information). Please do not send it to us.

How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you place an order, create an account, request a quote, complete our contact form, email or call us. We may also collect it from people in your business who order on your behalf, from delivery and payment providers involved in your order, and automatically through our website. If you do not provide the information we reasonably need, we may not be able to quote, process an order or deliver to you.

Why we collect, use and disclose it

We use personal information to:

• respond to enquiries and prepare quotes
• process, deliver and support orders, including returns and warranty claims
• manage customer accounts, invoicing and payments
• verify that we are dealing with a registered business where our pricing or terms require it
• operate, secure and improve our website, including preventing spam and fraud
• send service messages about your orders
• send marketing about our products where you have agreed or where the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) otherwise allows it (every marketing email includes an unsubscribe option)
• comply with our legal obligations, including tax and record keeping

We only use or disclose personal information for another purpose where you have consented, where you would reasonably expect it, or where the law requires or allows it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only as needed with trusted service providers who help us run our business, such as:

• freight and courier companies delivering your order
• payment processors and our bank
• website hosting, email and IT service providers
• analytics and security providers, including Google (Google Analytics and reCAPTCHA)
• our accountants, auditors, insurers and professional advisers
• government bodies or regulators where required by law

We require these providers to handle personal information securely and only for the services they provide to us.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers, including website hosting, email, analytics and security providers, may store or process information outside Australia, for example in the United States. Where we disclose personal information overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it in a way consistent with the APPs.

Cookies, analytics and spam protection

Our website uses cookies to keep your cart and account working, remember preferences and understand how the site is used. We use Google Analytics to see aggregated information about visits, and Google reCAPTCHA on forms to protect against spam and abuse. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the site, such as the cart and checkout, may not work without them. Automated decisions

We do not use computer programs to make decisions about you, without human involvement, that could significantly affect your rights or interests. If this changes, we will update this policy to describe the kinds of personal information used and the kinds of decisions made.

How we store and protect it

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These include secure hosting, encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls and limiting access to staff who need it. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law (for example, tax records), then destroy or de-identify it.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first. If we refuse a request we will explain why, unless it would be unreasonable to do so. Account holders can also update their details in My Account.

Data breaches

If a data breach is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
